UsingmultipleRadDisk,itispossIBLetoconductsequentialirradiationsongroupsofupto20mice(withoutdividers)withouttheneedofautoclavingcagesbetweeneachuse,becausetheinterioroftheRadDiskmaintainsafilterprotectedsterileenvironment.RadDiskusesapatentedoffsetdesignthatallowsverticalstackingofcagessothatadequateairflowreacheseachcage.Thefilteredcagepreventscontaminationduringandafterirradiation,andduringtransportinandoutofanimalrooms.BecauseRadDiskisconstructedofpolycarbonateplastic,itisautoclaveable.Theratcageis4highand11.25"indiameter,designedtofitintoGammacell40orNordionirradiatorloadingchambers.Usedasdirected,RadDiskpreventscontaminationofmiceduringtheirradiationprocessevenwhenirradiatorislocatedoutsideoftheanimalroomsorfacility.RadDiskcomescompletewitharemovabledividersystemwhichcandividethecageinto4to8separatecompartments,ifdesired,forirradiation.Thecagecanalsobeusedwithoutthedividersthusallowingthefreerangingmicetoreceivemoreuniformirradiationexposure.
